Neither of my sons liked anything green in their food aside from a salad of iceberg lettuce(they wouldn’t eat the other kind) so as they have grown up its been difficult for them to adapt to eating in restaurants or at social gatherings because I didn’t teach them to eat everything. My oldest will still pick out items from his meals and line them up on the edge of his plate. Needless to say…he gets some strange looks now and then. But then I’ll get a second chance with the grandkids. I guess thats what my mom meant by “Being a parent is a lot of live and learn.”

My eight month old was so screaming while her siblings ate b-day cake, in my search for one silent minute in the day….I gave her chocolate cake. Of coarse I got a few moments of silenec followed by a mess that took so much longer to pick up & a baby that had her first dose of sugar! It was so not worth it.

I enjoyed reading these stories. I realized I am probably all of them. I guess my worst parenting mistake was not reading a large number of books to my son. His school has a program where if you read 25 books a month for the entire school year, he will get a prize at the end of the year. I learned my mistake from last year and I do not want to bring another real rabbit home (we gave it away- but that is another story in itself). So he has only read a few books all year.

I ran out to the car to get something when my daughter was about 18 months old and she closed the door behind me and it was locked and I couldn’t get back in. I tried to get her to turn the doorknob but she couldn’t do it. So I had to call for help and have someone cut the window out and unlock the door and then they put the pane back in for me. I felt so bad because she was in there all alone but she was happy and smiling at me through the window the whole time.

I was sitting in the waiting room for my infants routine check up. I noticed his fingernails were long so while waiting I trimmed his nails. I was startled by our name being called and cut too close and drew blood.

With our first child, we were told by the pediatrician to give prune juice to our baby to help her have a BM. Well this is where we messed up: we didn’t pay attention close enough to where you add water to make it half and half. So one full ounce bottle of prune juice in our 8 month old baby equalled to purple poop all over our child, including her hair, ears, and the wall and the bed….the child was purple! She felt good though! No more consitpation!

My husband has a few more than me. But I suppose my worst parenting moment is letting my 2 1/2 year old son still have a bottle at night because i’m too tired to deal with getting him off of it. He’ll get off of it eventually!! lol

I fell asleep (I was working the graveyard shift) and forgot to pick up my son from a birthday party at a park. I awoke to police officers banging on my door telling me my son has been at the police station for almost 2 hours. Talk about the guilt and shame.

Having used cloth diapers on both my daughters, I decided I was going to try the \’disposable\’ kind with my son in spite of the cost (this was almost 20 years ago). While attending a large family gathering and having just changed my son\’s diaper. I observed the familiar facial grimace of an infant moving his bowels and then the odor permeated the air making it obvious to all around us. Being the ever dutiful mother I immediately went into the guest bedroom and bathroom where we were staying to change his diaper. I am ashamed to say that I promptly emptied that turd into the toilet and reapplied that expensive disposable diaper with medical tape that I found in a drawer. We re-entered the gathering with noone the wiser. UGH!
